I picked Easter, but really I like any holiday candy. Easter just happens to have the single best kind ever, with those Cadbury Creme Eggs. Mmm.

Noises and/or lights keep me awake. They don't wake me up, per se, but they do prevent sleep from happening. See also: overactive imaginations.

I don't really have anything to say that except look! I'm replying cause I know you're needy :D

And also that I would have included more Jewish holidays if there were more than fifteen options! *glares at LJ*

I totally support your lobbying LJ for more polls options, now.

I can sleep in pretty much any situation so long as I have a pillow or something resembling a pillow and nothing troublesome going on in my mind. If I have no pillow and too many thoughts, then it becomes difficult. But otherwise I could probably fall asleep at a rave >.>

Yeah, I've only slept without a pillow a couple of times in my life, but it was incredibly hard to fall asleep. Once I was asleep it was fine, but getting there was very difficult.

But otherwise I could probably fall asleep at a rave >.>

I'm jealous!

Without a pillow it takes sleeping pills or waaaay too much alcohol for me to even think of sleeping... my body just refuses to allow it to happen. People can count as pillows if I get desperate.

It comes from... actually, I don't know how I gained that ability, but it does come in handy. Big party going on upstairs? Pfffft, who cares, I'm zonked.

Persian New Year ftw. My mummy is a great cook and Iranian desserts are great, like saffron rice pudding, gaz, baklava and those fried dough thingies dipped in syrup. Also, Fesenjan (walnut chicken sauce), kabab, Sabzi Polo, Dolme (stuffed wine leaves) and many other things. Not all on the same day, though.

We always have to sleep on the bus when we're on orchestra tour. It's horrible. a) It's hard to fall asleep b) afterwards my neck hurts a lot.

Yeah, the neck pain from sleeping in buses/cars/etc. really does suck.

And Persian New Year does sound cool.

I think I can sleep in almost every situation as long as I'm appropriately tired and/or serene. No, actually peace of mind matters the most, I might have run a marathon but if I am too excited/anxious it will take me ages to fall asleep. It always takes me ages to fall asleep, actually, but it would be worse :-D

My favorite holiday food are Carnival treats (we're in the season, yay!), which are like, very very local - galani and frittelle; both are deep fried, only the first are flat and crispy, the latter are soft like muffins. Galani, with different names, are found pretty much all over Italy, while frittelle are mostly a Venetian thing. And now I totally have to bribe my grandma into cooking some *_*

Our New Year's celebrations include a lot more tasty pastries than yours, so if I hadn't been forced to pick Channukah (because who would I be if I didn't?), I would probably have chosen NYE.

Best holiday food = hamantaschen for Purim -- the proper kind, with poppy seed, honey, and nuts filling, none of this jam nonsense! I also really, really like matza -- like, I can finish a whole box by myself -- so I like Passover food, too, especially matza with charoset.

I'm surprised that "sleeping without covers on" is so common a barrier to falling asleep -- it is for me, and I know other people are the same way, but I didn't realize it was such a majority!

Maybe there's some evolutionary reason for this? :)

I'm quite low-maintenance normally, but sleeping is the one big exception. I think if you took all the whining I've done about sleeping conditions, and combined them, you'd come up with more wining than I've done about anything else ever! Okay, maybe not that extreme, but you get the idea. I get sore very easily, my back goes out, and my arms fall asleep if I don't have a very comfortable bed and pillow. I can't fall asleep if it's bright or noisy. I don't like sharing a bed unless I have lots of room to myself. And pretty much every other night I get out of bed to have a snack or some water. Yeah, it kinda sucks being around while I'm trying to sleep. >.>

Sleeping naked, however, is rad.

I picked St. Patrick's Day not because of anything other than Irish Soda Bread.......I eat at least 2 loaves of that stuff on my own while it's all over the place for St. Patrick's Day.

And I'm such a heavy sleeper, when it's time to sleep I just sleep. I took a nap at a club once, standing against a wall.

Uh.. no one will notice if my film was released a decade or so earlier, right? RIGHT? I haven't seen any of those movies listed.

Also, ham has nothing on turkey. Nothing is quite like jamming stuffing up a turkey's arse, then scooping it out later.

They may notice, but Kenneth Branagh is always such a good choice that it doesn't matter. ;)
