Summer Sports: Synchronized swimming! I kind of miss doing that, though I was never very good.

Winter Sports: This is me, highly offended that you'd include cross-country, but not downhill skiing. For shame. Shaaaaame.

You did synchronized swimming? That is so damn cool! I definitely would have included it in that first question if these LJ people would ever improve their polls and allow more than fifteen options per question.

However, I don't know if I would have included downhill skiing, despite the obviousness. I have a bit of a major problem with winter. :)

To be fair, I only did it for a few months - one season - in my grade ten year. I am laughably far from Olympic quality. But I did really enjoy the experience and the fitness level it got me up to may have saved my life. (I had my stroke only weeks after the season ended.) I have a great fondness for the sport.

Poor winter. Why do you dislike it so?

It still seems awesome to me - I was on a swim team in my youth but there were never even any opportunities (that I was aware of, anyway) to try out things like synchronized swimming.

As for winter, I'm really not a fan of cold and darkness. The lack of sunlight usually affects my mood and the cold prevents me from doing lots of stuff I like to, like running outside or not wearing ugly bulky coats. :P

You are clearly not wearing the right winter coats! Mine is super handsome. (I confess that I do prefer the long summer days, even if I am usually perfectly happy in the cold.)

For the songs:
I listen to the vocalist singing first.
Then the lyrics. Then the melody.
x3.

For the men thing:
I'd feel playful.
And kind of blushy.

For the life planned out:
I have what I want my life after high school to be planned.

"What guy went 'I want to dress like a sperm, shove an ice skate up my ass, and ride balls first down an ice chute. JA! That would be fun.'?"

Robin Williams frequently sums up my ideologies. But that doesn't make me want to not luge any less. :)

I agree with [livejournal.com profile] akeyoftime: What the hell, no downhill skiing??? My favourite winter sport! I love skiing. Cross-country and I, however, don't get along very well. Case in point:

It just doesn't work well. :P

I picked fencing for summer sports, because that means I'd actually get around to learning it!!

As for guys... I tend to just be really amused.

OH, and for music, it really depends on the type of music and my mood.

See, that was me and the one time I've ever been downhill skiing - I mastered the easy-peasy learner's course, but when I got onto the actual hill - I hit a tree spread-eagle, just like in the comics. It was NOT FUNNY, but I still laugh about it. ;)

I look like you when I'm trying to go down a hill in cross country skis, mostly because I try and ski down them like I'm in downhill skis and that's just a ski boot full of awkward.

Your favourite female character choses are brilliant! I really wanted to include Kara in my list, but Pulaski never gets any love.

Aww, haha, I'm sure that will be me if I ever try *either* type of skiing. Hell, sometimes that's me when merely trying to walk around in too much snow. I admire you for trying. :D

I took a fencing class once, at a summer camp, and it was fun, but I really couldn't stand the lack of symmetry. After a couple of weeks of it, my right arm was about twice the size of my left arm. Very disconcerting. :P

Yeah, I'm not actually big on it, either, despite this poll. I watched some gymnastics and some swimming since they were on at the bar I was at, but that's about it.

I have trouble understanding the appeal of watching sports. I can easily understand the excitement of actually participating/competing yourself or even going to watch a live game/event, but on TV? I don't know, it's just not terribly appealing to me.

Cycling is the one thing my joints would be able to take. Speedskating just looks awesome.

What about swimming? I think that's even easier on the joints. After I had my fabulous knee dislocation problems in my youth, swimming was the first exercise I started getting into. It was really great in that respect.

Though yeah, I suppose cycling is cool, too. :)

Yeah swimming is the one they recommend, I just am an awful swimmer :P It's a shame, I could really use all that conditioning. Maybe it's something to work on.

I would have tried my hand at a sport if I had to but if singing was offered I would definitely take that first.

Pfft, lame. Obviously I'm better at singing than swimming, but that option is really only there for people who are too lame to take up the (imaginary) challenge. :P

Gymnasts are like modern-day ninjas. Freaking awesome. (I can't do any of that stuff, but hey, we can pretend.) Bobsleigh, well... who doesn't love sledding? I'd take the position of the person who doesn't really do anything. I am just assuming this position exists.

From: [identity profile] deeplyunhip.livejournal.com
I think the closest to that position would be the brakeman? You certainly wouldn't want to be the pilot or someone required to push the thing, so yeah, brakeman. :)

I think when I first listen to a song, I listen to the melody. After that, I listen to the lyrics.

How come there's no downhill skiing in your winter olympics? :-P

Because I can't be bothered to pay actual attention to things related to winter? :P
