I think Juno will win, and it pisses me the fuck off because I'm tired of hearing about that movie to the point that I am quite likely to boycott ever seeing it. Plus, the girl's character seems bitchy for the sake of that being "cool" and "modern" and "fresh." Whatever. I've been a bitch forever and no one ever made a goddamn movie about ME. ;)

I can't stand it when people are excessively late, continual or not. Drives me right up the wall! (If you've got a good excuse, fine, but seriously, you'd better.)

But it's good though..perhaps give it a chance (but I don't know you at all, so I have no clue if you'd like it of course). I like its emotional honesty and real quirkiness. I don't think it'll win the Oscar though.

I haven't even seen No Country for Old Men, but considering the critical acclaim it's gotten so far, I'd say it's the winner.

I've been reading several books on the Enneagram and trying to type myself better. I thought I was a 5, then I convinced myself I was actually a 9, and I most recently even flirted with the possibility of being a 6. It's confusing, because I for some silly reason WANT to think I can typify myself into a category to better understand myself through things other people have written and devised, but nothing ever seems exactly fitting. I think there is at least some truth to personality types though. It's just never clear cut, even to oneself, but the books do warn about that. What type do you think you are, or have you avoided such conclusions?

p.s. What's funny is I think I've got my two former best friends pegged as a 4 and an 8. Maybe I'm just oversimplifying their personalities, but I think they would maybe even agree.

Lol cultural differences - home births are completely and utterly normal where I live. And most of our hospital births occur without sedatives. What can I say, we're tough out here. ;)

I don't care about which movie gets the Oscar, but the Oscars better be held this year because I want to do see Jon Stewart.

Hey, give it time! ;)

I don't think Juno (the character) is particularly "bitchy", but then again, I don't think you are, either. I think there's a difference between being a smartass and being a bitch. It may just be me. I don't think it's going to win, in any case.

I don't like lateness, either. I almost picked it, but then I thought about it for a moment and realized that all of my friends are excessively late all the time. For some reason, I seem to attract these flaky people. It's not as bad when they call to let you know they're going to be late.

Heh. I haven't even seen There Will Be Blood - that's the reason I picked that one. I want to see it, though.

I did see No Country for Old Men and I wasn't that impressed with it. I liked it better than Atonement, which I have an intense hatred for, but I don't think it lived up to the hype at all. All of these reviews were going on and on about how Javier Bardem's villain was the most interesting villain since Hannibal Lecter. He wasn't even close.

I could see you as a 9 or a 5. I wouldn't have considered a 6 for you, but I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be one.

I haven't necessarily avoided such conclusions - I just honestly haven't been able to decide. I've thought I was a 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 at various points in time. The wings only make it more difficult. For example, I feel like I could very well be a 1 if it weren't for the wings, but I can't be a 2 or a 9, so I can't be a 1. I don't like it. I also don't think I'm consistent about what I want from life at all. I guess I could just be whatever type is the least consistent and most indecisive (regarding their own self).

Yes, so I have heard! Ricki Lake is trying to bring home births back in the U.S. and I watched her documentary about it, which is what got this on my mind in the first place. Some home births were directly shown, and they didn't seem any more painful or dangerous than the hospital births you'd usually see.

Did you see Stewart's previous Oscar-hosting?

I WISH Juno would win because I adored it so much, but I don't really think so. Maybe they'll be new and different this year, though?

I haven't seen the others, I picked at random based on what I've heard and THEN saw the I have no idea option. REally that's my choice. But whatever.

I actually felt this way about Juno before seeing it. That Juno's character was just going to be another "alternative" girl who is "so original" because she's a smartass. But, as you know, I thought it was a very good movie. I don't think it's going to win as Annie Hall was the only comedy to ever win and I'm not sure this movie is quite as groundbreaking as Annie Hall. Still, I thought it was great and would be happy if it won. I would also be happy if I got to see Micheal Clayton, There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men before the oscars.

I know, the wings do make it more confusing. I'm very un-8, so maybe that means I'm not a 9 since I don't have things in common with that wing? I don't know. Based on the wings and what I've thought for the longest, I'd be a 5. But it's not clear-cut. Which I guess it shouldn't be, since it is a whole personality/person we're attempting to typify and all, but for some reason I like to fit myself into these categories.
The ones you go back or forward to because of stress also confuse matters.

I'll fit best in that most indecisive/weird contradictory sort of one too!

I read a lot of electronic versions of books when I do read, IE Project Gutenberg. Otherwise, library.

I was a home birth, I think it could well be fine ... but I'd be scared of the lack of epidurals.
