Some Stuff

I was having a real down day yesterday, but one bright spot was the arrival of [livejournal.com profile] wintergreen126's gift (delivered with the aid of [livejournal.com profile] ikel89's plotting magic)!

An excellent assemblage of items: bubble bath, Lush Reindeer Rock soap, chocolate/peppermint goodness, caramels, and and an Orange is the New Black cookbook. Lots of fun and deliciousness all around.

A sample from the cookbook, just to showcase that it's not all prison meals, haha.

The candy! I smiled seeing the goat milk caramels were from Vermont. (That's where Anders and I attempting to move in the hopefully near future, for anyone who hasn't heard me going on about it...)

Completed with a cute card!

Thanks so much for the thoughtful and fun gift, [livejournal.com profile] wintergreen126! You are awesome.

Though speaking of awesome and gifts, amidst all my recent sadness I forgot to mention Anders's holiday gift to me: this DSLR camera. :D I've been rather busy and it didn't even come with a memory card, so I haven't really read the manual and it's not set up for use yet, but hopefully soon. Winter break is coming, after all!

Hurrah! Also, I'm really relieved that you seemed to have been able to make out my handwriting--I've had the post office return several letters to me on the account that the "address does not exist," aka they couldn't read what I wrote. It's why I didn't write as much in the card as I wanted; it would have been a squiggly mess.

Vermont is beautiful. It has lots of cheese and chocolate!

Merry Christmas!

Aw, your handwriting was absolutely legible to me, no worries! Then again, I have been working with kindergarten students for the past couple of years, so I am pretty good at deciphering messy writing. ;)

Thank you, once again, for the thoughtful gift. I'm going to look through the cookbook and see if there's something I could make during my winter break. (The soap, caramels, and chocolate are already being used on a daily basis, just FYI!)

It has lots of cheese and chocolate!

While Anders is all about the woods, I have to confess that lots of cheese is probably the strongest thing compelling me to want to live there...XD

Aww thank you for the excellent Santa-ing! <3 I hope it was fun for you, because I'm certainly impressed with your choice of presents (esp the book:D)

I took a couple of photos for practice but it didn't come with a USB cable either, so I'm now waiting for that...I am excited to actually use this soon, haha!

Yay for the Santa package! (goat milk caramels? I did not realize that was a think!) and yay for the DSLR! We've been very happy with our several Nikons!

I didn't know goat milk caramels were a thing, either, but from what I've seen so far, VT likes to be very creative with its dairy products. ;)

Good to hear about the Nikons! I am super excited to use it once all the necessary components arrive!

Whee, I'm liking this a lot, especially the book, as I mentioned - seems like a neat fannish idea (and hopefully practical, too :) How does the goat milk caramel taste like, though?:O I know caramel, and I know goat milk, and those two just don't seem to mix in my head :)

Also, CONGRATULATIONS on the new camera, may it serve you well!:) I'll be looking forward to more pictures from you! <3

I JUST ate a goat milk caramel for describing purposes, but it's hard to explain exactly how it's different than a regular milk caramel. It has just as much delicious sugar as a regular caramel, but there's something ever-so-slightly more savory about it, I suppose...in any case, this caramel loving person insists that they're good. ;)

I am very excited about the camera, though I still have to wait for a USB cable to arrive now. I have no idea why things like USB cables and memory cards are not included when one purchases a $400 camera...maybe to heighten the anticipation?!
